I’ve never been a big fan of the horror genre, but many people are. And, if you’re one of them, then you may be interested in the 90-minute Chiller 13: The Decade’s Scariest Movie Moments special airing tonight on Chiller.
You may now be asking yourself, what the heck is Chiller? Well, it’s a cable outlet that brings you movies, specials, TV shows etc. in the horror/thriller genre.
Now you may be wondering, do I even have Chiller? Well, you can find out by going to the ChillerTV website and typing in your zip code. Turns out I don’t have it on Xfinity in my area, but you may.
Chiller 13 takes you through their picks for the most frightening moments of the first decade of the 2000s with comments and discussions from pop culture aficionados and horror movie makers. Some of these include renowned special makeup effects supervisor Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead), comedians Dan Gurewitch and David Young (CollegeHumor.com), actress Betsy Russell (the Saw movies), writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), actor Tony Todd (Final Destination), horror film director Lucky McKee (May, Chiller’s original movie The Passenger), and others talking about their favorite scary movie moments.
I’ve seen the Chiller 13 special and while it kind of comes off like one of those MTV/VH1 pop culture shows with comedians etc. riffing on recent events that I don’t really care for, the comments and discussions here actually add something to the experience of reliving, or watching for the first time in my case, these scary moments. Take for instance the following clip of Steve Niles Discussing 30 Days of Night:
Overall, it’s a solid countdown of scary movie moments that fans of horror movies will surely enjoy. Did your favorite scary scene make the cut? Find out tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET. Will you be watching?
