On Tuesday, June 28th, 2011 Guilty Hearts arrives in stores on DVD and we are giving one lucky New Movie Friday reader a chance to win a copy. All you have to do is follow the easy instructions below, which pretty much amounts to answering the question below in the comments on this post. Good Luck!
What is the Prize?
- One Guilty Hearts
DVD – Follow the lives of nine strangers living worlds apart as they look for love, happiness, success, and friendship against all odds. Carrying the burden of guilt, they must escape their pasts before they can move forward. This is an interesting compilation of seven short films, most filmed in the early 2000s, built around each of the following: Kathy Bates, Gerard Butler, Julie Delpy, Anna Faris & Charlie Sheen, Eva Mendes, Stellan Skarsgård, and Imelda Staunton. The best of the bunch is “Spelling Bee,” which stars Faris and Sheen, as it is very funny. The next best is “Ready,” which stars Staunton, was also humorous. The rest are a bit more somber. I like short films but I do not have a favorite!
Short films, normally, are the works of virtually unknown filmmakers. They bring a fresh perspective to filmmaking, and it is always exciting to watch young talent. As for a favorite, all talent is to be commended. Thanks for the opportunity to view this group of short films.
I like both short and long films. Don’t really have a favorite but I do love Kathy Bates, and I would love to win.
Haven’t seen many short films in my life, so I do not have a fave, although I still hope I win!

cool movie!!! love to have it, good luck to everyone!
I don’t know if you could classify this as short film, but I liked the Martin Scorcese collection about NY city stories from a few years back. One of the short movies was his and I believe there were another two directors involved in the project.
Short films are a lot of fun to watch. I especially like when you have a collection of short films that are in someway connected.
Watch all I can but my all time favorite was “The Bear”. Have made sure, usually around age 5, that all of my grand children and great grand children watch this film. I think it helps develop their empathy for others!
I don’t watch a lot of short films so I can’t say I have a favorite. I do like the Wallace & Gromit shorts.
I like any type of film!

I haven’t watched short films since I was in college. I used to watch them on PBS. I remember watching Charlie Chaplin films.
