I know next to nothing about Harry Potter. I’ve never read any of the books and I’ve only seen half of the movies. I haven’t read any reviews really of the books or movies or much of anything about J.K. Rowling. I have a serious dearth of knowledge on the subject.
The little I do know comes from having seen Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone way back when on DVD and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire via On Demand just prior to going to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the theater back in 2007, the year I started this blog. Also, I’ve been on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, which was outstanding, at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter inside the Islands of Adventure theme park at Universal Orlando.
But, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 hitting theaters on Friday, November 19th, 2010, I decided to go back and re-watch/catch-up. Well, with the movies anyway.
So, over this weekend and the next I will be watching the first six Harry Potter movies via DVDs from Netflix.
This weekend (November 6th & 7th) will consist of:
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Next weekend (November 13th & 14th) will consist of:
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Read Review)
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Then the following Friday, November 19th I will go see:
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1
I haven’t decided whether I am going to write up reviews on each of them as I watch them or one overview post after watching all six, but this project and reviewing Deathly Hallows, Part 1 will serve as the reintroduction of regular reviews here at New Movie Friday.
Have you seen all the Harry Potter movies? Are you looking forward to the final films in the series?
