There are 12 new movies coming Friday. Four are opening everywhere and another eight are in limited release.
Nationwide – New Movies Coming Friday, April 29th:
Movie: Dylan Dog: Dead of Night (PG-13)
Starring: Brandon Routh, Anita Briem, Sam Huntington & Taye Diggs
Genre: Horror Comedy
Synopsis: A world famous private detective that specializes in the walking dead is armed with silver and wood bullets. He is on the trail of a missing artifact and if he is not able to find it, a war between the werewolves, vampires and zombies looms on the streets of New Orleans. Based on the popular graphic novel by Tiziano Sclavi.
First Thoughts: Looks like it might actually be fun.
Movie: Fast Five (PG-13)
Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson & Chris “Ludacris” Bridges
Genre: Action Thriller
Synopsis: An ex-cop and his girlfriend have been evading authorities after breaking her brother out of custody. They assemble a team to do one final job in Rio de Janeiro and maybe gain permanent freedom. They must go up against a corrupt businessman before the federal agent on their trail catches up with them.
First Thoughts: For some unexplainable reason I can’t wait to see this. Luckily, I won’t have to wait much longer, as I am attending a screening of it tonight. Will have a review later in the week. Also, available in IMAX.
Movie: Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (PG)
Starring: Hayden Panettiere, Patrick Warburton, David Ogden Stiers & Glenn Close
Genre: Animated Comedy
Synopsis: A teenaged Red Riding Hood has been training in a distant land with a covert group known as Sisters of the Hood. She gets teamed with the Wolf to investigate what happened to Hansel and Gretel.
First Thoughts: Sounds like a creative take on popular bed time stories, but doesn’t interest me really. Also available in 3D.
Movie: Prom (PG)
Starring: Aimee Teegarden, Thomas McDonell, De’Vaughn Nixon, Danielle Campbell & Yin Chang
Genre: Teen Comedy Drama
Synopsis: A bunch of different stories intersect leading up to prom, as the seniors prepare for the event.
First Thoughts: Looks like a Love Actually styled comedy for the teen set.
