There are 10 new movies for Friday. One opens nationwide and the other nine open on a limited basis. Plus, Titanic 3-D premiered earlier this week on Wednesday.
Nationwide – New Movies for Friday, April 6th:
Movie: American Reunion (R)
Starring: Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Seann William Scott, Mena Suvari & Eddie Kaye Thomas
Genre: Comedy
Synopsis: The American Pie gang is back for their high school reunion. Hijinks ensue.
First Thoughts: Will probably see this at some point. A high school reunion actually seems like a good idea for a sequel to a teen comedy. I wonder if this does well, if we’ll see more of this type of sequel down the road?
Limited – New Movies for Friday, April 6th:
- The Assault – Action adventure flick.
- ATM – Suspense thriller about three co-workers are trapped by an unknown person.
- Comic-Con: Episode IV – A Fan’s Hope – Documentary by Morgan Spurlock that follows five people attending San Diego Comic-Con 2010 and the cultural phenomenon the event has become. As someone that has gone to Comic-Con the last three years, I’m interested in seeing this.
- Damsels in Distress – Comedy about a trio of girls at an east coast college that tries to change things up and take a new student under their wing.
- The Hunter – Drama starring Willem Dafoe about a mercenary sent to track down an almost extinct tiger with a genetic makeup that may hold the key to a dangerous weapon.
- Keyhole – Suspense thriller about a gangster searching his dilapidated mansion for his sick wife.
- Take Me Home – Romantic comedy about two strangers having extremely bad days decide to take a road trip to California to get away.
- We Have a Pope – Comedy drama about a cardinal the gets unexpectedly elected to become the next Pope and freaks out at the prospect, so the Vatican brings in a psychiatrist to figure out what to do.
- We the Party – Teen comedy set in an ethnically diverse Los Angeles high school about five friends and how they deal with the times.
There is one new movie playing in my area this week. It is American Reunion. Of the 10 new movies for Friday, what do you most want to see this weekend?
