New Movies Opening Friday, February 17th, 2012?

There are six new movies opening Friday. Two open nationwide and another four open on a limited basis.

Nationwide – New Movies Opening Friday, February 17th:

Movie: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (PG-13)
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Ciarán Hinds, Violante Placido & Idris Elba
Genre: Sci-Fi Action Adventure
Synopsis: Johnny Blaze has to become Ghost Rider again to save a boy from being taken over by Satan.
First Thoughts: Will probably go see this on the big screen, but not exactly excited about it. Kind of shocked a second one ever got made.

Movie: This Means War (PG-13)
Starring: Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Til Schweiger & Chelsea Handler
Genre: Romantic Spy Comedy
Synopsis: Two CIA operatives that are also best friends, as well as partners, find out that they are both falling for the same woman. They decide not to tell her and let her ultimately decide, but they end up using their spy skills and gadgets to undermine the other one in the eyes of the woman they are pursuing.
First Thoughts: This looks like it might be fun to see at some point.

Limited – New Movies Opening Friday, February 17th:

  • Bullhead – Suspense drama.
  • On the Ice – Suspense drama.
  • Thin Ice – Stars Greg Kinnear, Alan Arkin, Billy Crudup, Bob Balaban, Lea Thompson.
  • Undefeated – Documentary about a North Memphis high school football team that had never won a playoff game for the 110 years the school has been around leading into the 2009 season.

There are three new movies playing in my area this week. They are Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Thin Ice and This Means War. Of the six new movies opening Friday, will you be seeing any of them this weekend?

I absolutely hated the first Ghost Rider film and, like you, am shocked a second one got made. That said, I will probably check it out when it hits 3D Blu-ray as I think it would be a cool 3D film if nothing else.

Based on the ads, This Means War looks like a lot of fun, and I definitely want to see it at some point.
