in Film Festivals

Seattle International Film Festival 2014 moves into its first full week as of today. I’ve gone through and watched trailers for most of the movies playing over the 25 day festival and picked out the ones I am most interested in checking out. I’ve broken them into four groups: Opening Weekend (May 16th – 18th), Week One (May 19th – 25th), Week Two (May 26th – June 1st) and Week Three (June 2nd – 8th) and will be posting about them at the beginning of each week.

My picks for SIFF 2014 Week One are 3 Mile Limit, Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas, Begin Again, Charlie Chaplin shorts, I Origins, The Keeper of Lost Causes, Love and Lemons, Lucky Them, Mystery Road, Obvious Child, The Two Faces of January, You Must Be Joking and Zip & Zap and the Marble Gang. Follow the links below for ticket and venue information.

SIFF 2014 Week One Picks

  • 3 Mile Limit – May 20th, 25th & 28th for people looking to Face the Music – Looks like a more dramatic Pirate Radio
  • Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas – May 20th & 21st for people looking for something to Thrill Me! – Caught my eye because it stars Mads Mikkelson (TV’s Hannibal).

  • I Origins – May 24th for people looking for some Sci-Fi and Fact – Stars Michael Pitt, Brit Marling (Another Earth), Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Steven Yeun and Archie Panjabi (TV’s The Good Wife).
  • The Keeper of Lost Causes – May 22nd, 24th & 25th for people looking for something to Thrill Me! – Looks kind of like The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo.
