What New Movies Are Coming Out Memorial Day Weekend 2011?

Six new movies are coming out Memorial Day Weekend 2011. Two open everywhere on the Thursday prior and another four are in limited release as of Friday.

Nationwide – New Movies Coming Out Thursday, May 26th:

Movie: The Hangover Part II (R)
Starring: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Paul Giamatti, Mike Tyson & Jeffrey Tambor
Genre: Comedy
Synopsis: Stu doesn’t want to revisit what happened in Las Vegas for his buddy’s bachelor party, so he decides on a pre-wedding brunch in Thailand.
First Thoughts: Looks like a rehash of the first. Hopefully, it is as funny.

Movie: Kung Fu Panda 2 (PG)
Starring: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Gary Oldman & Jackie Chan
Genre: Animated Martial Arts Comedy
Synopsis: Po and the Furious Five head out on a journey across China to defeat a new menace before it can destroy kung fu.
First Thoughts: Still haven’t seen the first one.

Limited – New Movies Coming Out Memorial Day Weekend:

  • The Tree of Life – Family drama starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn about a man attempting to figure out his complicated relationship with his father.
  • Tied to a Chair – Comedy about a woman that admits failing as a housewife and sets off to reclaim the acting career she gave up some 25 years ago.
  • United Red Army – Docudrama about the 1960 uprising of students in Japan that coincided with the rise of the far left militant group that tortured some of its members in 1972.
  • We Are the Night – Horror flick about a group of ruthless female vampires and their newest recruit.

There are two new movies playing in my area this week. They are The Hangover Part II and Kung Fu Panda 2. Six new movies are coming out Memorial Day weekend, which one are you going to see?
