What New Movies Start Friday, April 18th 2014?

There are 18 new movies starting Friday. Four open nationwide and the other 14 open on a limited basis.

Nationwide – New Movies for Friday, April 18th:

Movie: Disneynature’s Bears (G)
Starring: John C. Reilly narrates
Genre: Documentary
Synopsis: An epic story of breathtaking scale set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, the film follows a mama bear as she imparts life lessons to her two cubs.
First Thoughts: Not interested.

Movie: A Haunted House 2 (R)
Starring: Marlon Wayans, Jaime Pressly, Essence Atkins, Dave Sheridan, Affion Crockett, Gabriel Iglesias & Ashley Rickards
Genre: Comedy Horror
Synopsis: A guy has exercised the demons of his ex is attempting to start fresh with his new girlfriend and her two children. But, after they movie into their dream home, he has to once again plagued by bizarre paranormal events.
First Thoughts: Will probably see it at some point once it hits Netflix or something.

Movie: Heaven Is For Real (PG) – Opened Wednesday, April 16th
Starring: Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly, Connor Corum, Margo Martindale, Thomas Haden Church & Jon Ted Wynne
Genre: Drama
Synopsis: The story of a little boy that says he visited heaven during a near-death experience.
First Thoughts: Not interested.

Movie: Transcendence (PG-13)
Starring: Johnny Depp, Kate Mara, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy & Paul Bettany
Genre: Suspense Thriller
Synopsis: A dying scientific genius’s life-long pursuit of knowledge becomes an omnipresent power hungry madman after having his consciousness upload to the computer.
First Thoughts: Great cast and interesting idea, but probably won’t get me out to the theater this week.
