in New Movies This Friday

There are six movies starting this Friday. Three open everywhere and another three are in limited release.

Opening Nationwide on Friday, February 25th:

Movie: Drive Angry 3D (R)
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Amber Heard & William Fichtner
Genre: Sci-Fi Action Thriller
Synopsis: A man sent to hell learns that his daughter has been murdered by a cult leader and his grandchild taken to be used in a sacrifice that would lead to hell on Earth. He breaks out to save the infant and ends up teaming with a waitress who gives him her old boyfriends car. As the two set out to track down the cult leader, Satan sends one of his men to bring the man back to hell.
First Thoughts: Sounds like one hell of a stupid movie, but hopefully in the best way possible.

Movie: Hall Pass (R)
Starring: Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer & Christina Applegate
Genre: Comedy
Synopsis: Two friends, each who have been married for quite some time, are starting to get restless at where they are in their lives. Both of their wives decide to grant them one week off from marriage to do whatever they want with no questions asked. They think they’ve hit the jackpot, but soon learn that the idea may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
First Thoughts: This just looks dumb, but not in the best way possible.

The third movie opening everywhere is Justin Bieber Never Say Never: The Director’s Fan Cut, which is just…well, let’s just leave it at that.

Opening in Limited Release

  • The Grace Card – Religious drama starring Louis Gossett, Jr. about a cop that becomes bitter and angry after a tragic accident.
  • Heartbeats – An avant-garde piece about three close friends in a love triangle.
  • Of Gods and Men – Drama about French monks that believe their faith will get them through the Algerian Civil War.

There are four new movies playing in my area this week. They are Drive Angry 3D, The Grace Card, Hall Pass, and Justin Bieber Never Say Never: The Director’s Fan Cut. Will you be heading out to the movies this weekend?
