There are seven movies opening this week, three everywhere and four others are in limited release.
Opening Nationwide on Friday, March 20th:
Movie: Duplicity (PG-13)
Starring: Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Tom Wilkinson & Paul Giamatti
Genre: Caper Comedy Drama
Synopsis: A former CIA operative and a former MI6 agent have both left the life of government intelligence gathering and have decided to put their skills to good use in a war raging between to multinational corporations. Both companies are trying to get a new formula completed and patented before the other does, so they can rake in the bucks that will follow. The two former covert agents decide that going against each other may not be the best way to go, plus they seem to be falling for each other in the process.
First Thoughts: This looks like a lot of fun, like an Ocean’s Eleven style caper flick. This is one of the movies I want to see this weekend.
Movie: I Love You, Man (R)
Starring: Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Rashida Jones, Andy Samberg & J.K. Simmons
Genre: Comedy
Synopsis: A guy has gotten engaged, but realizes that he doesn’t really have anyone to be his best man. He has always had a lot of girl friends, but not guy friends. So, it is suggested that he try and find one. He comes across a possible candidate and they become quick friends. But, as his knew “bro-mance” starts to get stronger, his relationship with his fiancee starts to falter.
First Thoughts: This actually looks really good. I know the promos can be wrong a lot of the time, but I have a feeling this one might actually be good. This is another movie I want to see this weekend.
Movie: Knowing (PG-13)
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Rose Byrne & Chandler Canterbury
Genre: Sci-Fi Thriller
Synopsis: A professor that figures out a sheet of numbers found in a 50 year old time capsule is actually a list predicting major disasters all over the world. So, he tries to figure out a way to try and stop the ones that haven’t occurred yet.
First Thoughts: This is the third movie this week that I want to see this weekend. It actually looks like it might be good too.
