Seattle International Film Festival 2013 moves into its first full week as of tonight. I’ve gone through and watched trailers for most of the movies playing over the 25 day festival and picked out the ones I am most interested in checking out. I’ve broken them into four groups: Opening Weekend (May 17th – 19th), Week One (May 20th – 26th), Week Two (May 27th – June 2nd) and Week Three (June 3rd – 9th) and will be posting about them at the beginning of each week.
My picks for Week are In a World…, Out of Print, Populaire, The Spectacular Now, Stuck in Love and The Way, Way Back.
SIFF 2013 Opening Weekend Picks
- In a World… – Plays May 24th & 26th for people looking for something to Make Me Laugh! – Stars Lake Bell, Rob Corddry, Michaela Watkins, Ken Marino, Nick Offerman and Demetri Martin. It is also written, produced and directed by Lake Bell.
- Out of Print – Plays May 20th & 21st for people looking for something with a Creative Streak – This is a very interesting documentary/discussion on the digitization and dissemination of books/information. If you are interested in the future of learning, books, information and a look back at where we’ve come from with each and the questions and potential problems surrounding where we have gone and are going, then this is well worth checking out.
- Populaire – Plays May 21st for people looking for something to Make Me Laugh! – Not a big fan of having to read my movies, but do like a well done and fun period piece.
- The Spectacular Now – Plays May 24th & 25th for people looking for something to Make Me Laugh! Stars Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Brie Larson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
- Stuck in Love – Plays May 20th for people looking for Love… – It stars Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly and Kristen Bell.
- The Way, Way Back – Plays May 25th & 26th for people looking for something to Make Me Laugh! – Not a big fan of having to read my movies, but do like a well done and fun period piece. Stars Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, Sam Rockwell and Maya Rudolph.
