There are eight films new at the movies this Friday. Two open everywhere and another six are in limited release.
Nationwide – New at the Movies This Friday, July 15th:
Movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (PG-13)
Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman & Robbie Coltrane
Genre: Fantasy Adventure
Synopsis: Harry, Ron and Hermione head back to Hogwarts to get the final horcruxes and destroy them. Voldemort learns of their plans and as the final fight starts, nothing will ever be the same.
First Thoughts: Have seen all the movies, but never been as enamored with the whole thing as many are, but am on the excited side to see how everything comes to an end. It is also being released in 3-D and IMAX 3-D.
Movie: Winnie the Pooh (G)
Starring: Jim Cummings, Craig Ferguson, Tom Kenny, Travis Oates & Bud Luckey
Genre: Family Adventure
Synopsis: Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo and Eeyore are back for an all new adventure.
First Thoughts: It looks like fun for the whole family.
Limited – New at the Movies This Friday, July 15th:
- Life, Above All – Drama about a 12-year-old girl that fights prejudice when her family is ostracized by a South African community.
- Lucky – Black comedy starring Colin Hanks about a fledgling serial killer that wins the lottery.
- Salvation Boulevard – Religious comedy starring Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Greg Kinear and more about a guy that goes on the run after seeing a fundamentalist preacher shoot an atheist.
- Snow Flower and the Secret Fan – Drama set in 19th century China about two girls that develop their own secret code to deal with the rigid cultural norms that are imposed on women.
- Tabloid – Documentary by Errol Morris about Joyce McKinney.
- The Undefeated – Documentary about Sarah Palin and her rise form obscurity.
