There are seven movies starting this Friday. Two open everywhere and another five are in limited release.
Opening Nationwide on Friday, February 4th:
Movie: The Roommate (PG-13)
Starring: Leighton Meester, Minka Kelly, Cam Gigandet, Alyson Michalka & Danneel Harris
Genre: Thriller
Synopsis: An emotionally unhinged college freshman becomes obsessed with her roommate.
First Thoughts: It looks like Single White Female set in college. If this was about an emotionally unhinged Blair Waldorf, Meester (Gossip Girl, going off on a bunch of cheerleaders, Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Michalka (Hellcats) and Harris (One Tree Hill), I might go watch it.
Movie: Sanctum (R)
Starring: Richard Roxburgh, Ioan Gruffudd & Rhys Wakefield
Genre: Adventure Drama
Synopsis: A group of explorers get caught in a cave after a flash flood and must figure an alternate route out or die trying.
First Thoughts: This sounds like The Poseidon Adventure in a cave instead of a capsized ship. It’s also available in 3D and IMAX 3D.
