What New Movies Start Wednesday, November 24th, 2010?

There are seven movies opening Thanksgiving Day weekend. Four are opening everywhere and three more open on a limited basis.

Opening Nationwide on Wednesday, November 24th:

Movie: Burlesque (PG-13)
Starring: Christina Aguilera, Cher, Cam Gigandet, Stanley Tucci & Kristen Bell
Genre: Musical Drama
Synopsis: A singer from a small town heads to Los Angeles and hopes stardom will follow. She begins working at a burlesque nightclub and gets taken under the wing of a featured dancer. She soon finds that not everyone is so nice, but finally gets her shot on stage with the help of the sympathetic stage manager. She becomes the featured attraction at the club and catches the eye of a wealthy businessman seeking to buy the club.
First Thoughts: I have no interest in seeing this whatsoever.

Movie: Faster (R)
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Carla Gugino & Moon Bloodgood
Genre: Action
Synopsis: An ex-con is out for revenge for the double cross that left his brother dead years earlier.
First Thoughts: I’ll be seeing this one, as it actually looks pretty bad ass. Just check out the trailer below and you tell me.

Movie: Love and Other Drugs (R)
Starring: Anne Hathaway, Jake Gyllenhaal, Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria & Josh Gad
Genre: Romantic Comedy Drama
Synopsis: A pharmaceutical salesman selling a new sex enhancement drug can seemingly get any woman he wants, until he meets the one that his charms don’t seem to work on. Based on the book, Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman, Jamie Reidy.
First Thoughts: Looks like a sappy love story, but it stars Anne Hathaway, so I’ll probably be seeing it at some point.

Movie: Tangled (PG)
Starring: Mandy Moore & Zachary Levi
Genre: Animated Fairy Tale
Synopsis: A charming bandit on the run decides to hide out in a mysterious tower, but ends up being taken hostage by the towerbound teen girl who has been held captive there for years. She makes a deal with him to get her out of there and they end up on an adventure.
First Thoughts: Looks like a fun twist on the Rapunzel story. It will also be available in 3D.
